Can the birth control pill give you a false positive?

I was off the pill for a few months, and just finished the first pack of a new pill. My period is pretty late, it could just be my body adjusting to the new pill or...

is it possible that if I take a pregnancy test it could give me a false positive from the pill being in my system? Can the birth control pill give you a false positive?
I don't think taking birth control pills can give you a positive test, But go to a doctor.. If you get a positive test at the doctors office they would probably do an ultrasound .Can the birth control pill give you a false positive?
Yes, it can in fact give you a false positive especially if you stopped the pill and started again. If this is your first pack, and you just finished them, you can very much so be late on your period! The pill is in fact hormones that 'trick' your body into thinking it is pregnant, then when you have a week off of them, it realizes it and you menstruate. I wouldn't worry about it, but you should've been warned that the pill isn't as effective at protecting against pregnancy in the first month.

Don't worry!! You'll be alright (worrying and stress can make you late, too!)
no, there is no false positive because you are on the pill. pregnancy tests test for hcg, which is produced by the baby, not the hormones in the pill.
No.

The test is looking for completely different hormones than what's in your pill.
No, the hormones in your BC and the pregnancy hormone HCG are completely different.
No it's not possible.
No. There is no such thing as a false positive.
No- a test will be accurate. Take one.
